I am a writer, traveler, dreamer and photographer.
My moms' passing in 2004 was the pivotal event that broke me open as a person and set me on a trajectory and path of uncertainty I could never have foreseen. It took me a long time to realize I could design my own life and live my dreams.
Fast forward to April of 2014. I finally had enough of working jobs I did not like and decided to take a chance. I quit my cubicle job, and took a contract job for that summer. I had no idea what I would do after the job was up, but I knew I could no longer live the life I had been living. The job extended longer than originally planned for and I ended up having the resources and time to fulfill a life-long dream of spending a month in another country.
I rented a small cottage in Ireland in January of 2015 through Airbnb and had the most marvelous time living and learning about the land and the people. I came back from Ireland and went to the Palm Springs area for two weeks and from that point on I decided I would only do jobs I enjoyed and would craft my own life. I ended up working as a driver for Lyft and Uber, a professional pet-sitter and a karaoke reservation agent for Voicebox Karaoke, to name a few. Along the way I discovered I have a passion for writing and my first novel is in progress. I also discovered a passion for photography, and that trip in 2015 reignited my passion for travel.
Now here we are in 2018 and I manage the office for a small, local business. This affords me time and energy to pursue my love of travel, the revision of my novel and to hone my photography craft. I have no idea what the future holds, though I have become comfortable with change and uncertainty. I learned and continue to learn many lessons and enjoy a simple life filled with beauty.
